Adam Lauder was appointed Digital Imaging Librarian at Leddy Library. This is Adam’s second year administering visual resources at the University of Windsor. Adam has been collaborating with colleagues at the University of Toronto Libraries, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and the Ontario College of Art and Design to develop the shared Fine Art Digital Imaging System (FADIS) into an interdisciplinary, consortial database of audio-visual materials in a variety of digital formats. Adam has been active in the area of copyright policy development, as well as in the organization of an interim steering committee for the pending Canadian Chapter of the Visual Resources Association, which will be the first professional organization for visual resources librarians in Canada. He holds a Master of Information Studies from the University of Toronto, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto (with High Distinction). In partial fulfillment of the requirements of his MISt, Adam completed a Master’s thesis on the rhetorical construction of subjectivity in the marketing theories of Canadian artist and advertising executive Bertram Brooker.
Danielle Winn was appointed Information Literacy Librarian at the University of Windsor’s Leddy Library. Danielle completed her Master of Library and Information Science degree at the University of Western Ontario earlier this year, and also has a Master of Arts in Adult Education from Central Michigan University; a Bachelor of Education from Brock University; and a Bachelor of Arts from Brock University. Danielle will be responsible for continuing to develop the University’s Information Literacy Programme.
Shuzhen Zhao joined the staff of Leddy as the Bibliographic Services Librarian. She has a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario and Peking University, Beijing China. She almost completed her Master of Education from Brandon University. Before coming to Windsor, Shuzhen worked as a cataloguer for Coutts Library Services in 2003 and was the Technical Services Department Supervisor and Cataloguing Librarian at Brandon University Library in Manitoba. She has served for 10 years as the Head of the Technical Services Department at a Chinese academic library and has worked in the United States as an exchange librarian. With extensive international experience in cataloguing and reference departments in Canada, the United States and China, Shuzhen is able to integrate best practices from working in different institutions into her current work environment.
